Part 3

SOUTHERN COAST OF SPAIN: Sailing again, along a coast where the few harbours are overcrowded, so we spend nights at anchor; also the food choices become less varied:
PALMA DE MALLORCA: After nearly a week from Gibraltar, we finally touch port in Palma:
There are many more moorings available for pleasure boaters, compared to our last visit of many years ago, still it's all full! For the first time in this voyage, we moor "Mediterranean style" (stern-to the quay) and must quickly install the support for the passerelle which we had never needed before.
We meet another OVNI 385, belonging to an Italian couple who are on their way to cross the Atlantic; unavoidably we make friends and chat about ideas and plans. Although only 2 serial numbers apart, our two boats differ in quite a number of details, reconfirming the high degree of customization (or is that improvisation?...) of the Alubat yard.
CALVI, CORSICA: Off again, and even if we begin feeling "home", there is still a long way to go and the wind is again on the nose! We must crawl our path along the southern coast of Mallorca:
As we reach Minorca, the wind drops and we will have to motor the whole way up to Corsica; the crew takes the opportunity to celebrate the first 2000 miles sailed with Shaula3:
The crew celebrates as well....
Also the dolphins, much less numerous and playful than their Atlantic brethren, come for a last cheer:
In Calvi, unexpectedly moored to an half-empty main quay, we really feel at home:
ARENZANO: The uneventful last 100 miles bring us to Arenzano, where we plan to overwinter Shaula3 (or so we believed at the moment....)
